pinged.fyi is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no
accounts, no sign-ups, and no analytics SDKs.
What we store
Messages you send to a topic. Kept for up to 48 hours so your
devices can catch up, then deleted permanently. Messages are transmitted
over TLS and are not end-to-end encrypted; don't send secrets.
A push token for your device (issued by Apple or Google), plus
the list of topic IDs it subscribes to. This exists solely to deliver your
notifications and is deleted when it stops working or when you leave all
your topics.
Standard server logs (IP address, request path) kept briefly
for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
What we don't do
No accounts, emails, names, or phone numbers — we couldn't identify
you if we wanted to.
No analytics or tracking pixels.
No selling, sharing, or mining of message content.
Third parties
Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service and
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — the standard delivery rails for iOS and
Android. Message title and body pass through them in transit, subject to
Apple's and Google's own policies. Our server runs on Hetzner (EU).
Your controls
Leave a topic in the app and your device stops receiving it. Delete the
app and your push token dies with it. Messages self-delete within 48 hours
regardless. A topic's ID is its only key — share it carefully.
